2007 Darcie Kent Vineyards Merlot Picazo Vineyard

This wine shows bright cherry plum and nutmeg flavors and aromas. A rich palate with high acidity, ample tannins and oak character are balanced to age nicely. With hints of leather and clove on the finish, it is a great sipping wine.

In the foothills of southern Livermore sits the gently sloping Picazo Vineyard, where Pam and Jose Picazo have been tending their vines since 2004. Not only do their 10-year-old vines produce magnificent fruit, but they also provide a welcome sanctuary for local wildlife. At dawn and dusk, deer, foxes and coyotes routinely wander among the vines while hawks and eagles circle the skies above.
